We were so lucky to find this place : in Harlem there are not that many fast casual high quality sit down restaurants with amazing ambiance and fantastic food: we had the Seafood Gumbo and Crab Pockets , veggie bowl, roast chicken bowl and side veggies ; all were excellent great prices and really a fantastic fun place w great speakers and a fun playlist.
Man oh man , let me first say customer service is top of the notch 5 stars ; the female at the cashier was great , so I got the fried chicken rice bowl and my partner got the shrimp rice bowl , let me start with my meal , the chicken rice bowl was phenomenal, the chicken was tender and juicy , but hear me out ; half the bowl was veggies and the kinda taste burnt and there was like one scoop of rice only, very disappointing, so lets go with my partner meal , the shrimp bowl was not so good , again half the bowl with veggie if not more then half and like one scoop of rice that taste like watery rice pudding ; so we decided to exchange because I thought she was just being extra ; so I decided to take a bite out of it and it was horrible, I did not want to use that word but man so disappointing; the dragon fruit lemonade was good , I didn’t really taste too much dragon fruit and it was really hot even with the ice , but amazing customer service ; but for the price I paid I think I will go to somewhere else and still have extra money in my pocket
OK HEAR ME OUT! I want to give this establishment a 3 1/2 star. The customer service was nice, however the food was just ok. It’s not the best good nor is it the worse. All in all cute spot to support black owned if you’re in Harlem but not a place I’d go out the way for. I’d go back if I’m in the area though. And the pricing isn’t bad at all. It’s definitely comparable to other spots of its kind, maybe even more affordable. I had the Veggie rice bowl which was ok, it had an even ratio of rice to veggies but I did expect more flavor of the basmati jollof it was like eating yellow rice at best. My sister had the gumbo which she thought was pretty good. It did have lots of flavor and the right amount of spice but not to much. I also had the vegan soft serve strawberry shortcake, wasn’t great, I expected something else but it is what it is. To drink I had the dragonfruit lemonade, that was just ok and my sister had sorrel, she liked it but I’ve had better and of course not everyone makes it the same, so not tryna be too harsh on that. Give a try if in the area.
I had a fried chicken rice bowl, and it was good. Plenty of vegetables like half bowl of vegetables and 6 pieces of chicken along with one scoop of rice. Chicken and rice were tasty. I wish there was more rice and chicken than veggies. Roasted chicken rice bowl is the best, in my opinion.
I stopped here for a quick, healthy meal choice....surprise!! The food was amazing! I thought what, another dry boring bowl...not here! The food had a lot of flavor and appealing to the eye. My new summer stop for taste!
Briancantstopeating suggested checking out this place. As a resident of the area myself, I have to say I was genuinely impressed and thoroughly enjoyed the delectable food. I've already visited three times. My personal favorite is the Crispy Fish Bowl and Crispy Chicken Bowl paired with the refreshing Thyme Tea. If you happen to be in Harlem, make sure to give it a shot! You won't regret it.
Surprised that I’m giving this place 3 stars but the food just wasn’t it. Maybe it was the timing because ordered after 8 but the chicken was kinda dry and the bbq sauce was extremely acidic , like break into a slight sweat acidic. I enjoyed the nice variety of vegetables included and the rice. The rice was slightly over cooked but still good. Overall a decent meal , great staff , and a nice calm inviting ascetic in the restaurant
Super friendly staff and delicious food. We had the quinoa falafel bowl and the staff kindly made changes to make sure it was vegan.
